Halo XBE & Map Editor v2.1.0 BETA

------------------
August 25th, 2003
------------------
NOTICE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF HALO'S XBE BEFORE HACKING IT

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 2.1.0 includes a Map Text editor for those who like to fool around with the text strings inside the
Halo cached maps. This portion of the program was researched and written by jimmsta, whom, at the moment, doesn't
have a working modchip to see if this map text editor even works. All he knows is that you CAN change the map strings
in Halo, and make gameplay more... realistic.

Ugh... still needs some bugfixes... major bugfixes at that. It seems that with the addition of a new editor, I've
broken all support for anything.... Nothing really works, but that's ok, because all the error checking is working...

Yep... all that error checking code works fine... now to get vb to load the map files up in segments, to conserve memory....

Have Fun

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Special Thanks to CLuis for releasing the HXH source,
and to Valdek, who found the text strings inside the cached map files.

Included it a working exe and the source code to it. You will need the Visual Basic runtimes if you dont have VB.

--------------------
2) Whats the Purpose
--------------------
Me and my friends like to mess around with the variables in Halo and make it display our custom text.
We were tired of Hex editing it through WinHex. So I made this program and it simplifies everything.

------------------
3) How Do I Use It
------------------
First you open the Halo XBE. Then You chose which variable you want to change and insert your custom text. Lastly Hit "REPLACE".

-------------------------------------
4) What are those wierd "%s" and "%d"
-------------------------------------
The "%s" and "%d" are ingame variables "%s" is most of the time a player and "%d" is mostly a timer of some sort. It depends on what event(i.e. "When someone quits") you are editing. Its pretty easy to figure out.
