It's for those who wish to simplify the configuration and menu authoring process for Media X Menu. No XML knowledge needed. What isn't Myxomatosis? Myxomatosis is NOT an MXM skin designer app. But fear not, a designer is in the works.. and half-way done. =) By a skinner, for a skinner. Before using Myxomatosis: The .NET Framework 1.1 is REQUIRED for Myxomatosis to function (see below). Need the .NET Framework 1.1? It's free: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/howtoget.aspx Instructions for Myxomatosis: -The configuration parameters are self-explanatory. Refer to BJ's MXM User's Guide for detailed information on parameters. -When creating the menu layout, child nodes are placed under the CURRENTLY SELECTED NODE. -Selected nodes can be edited using the edit button on menu pane. -When editing a node, don't forget to apply the changes. -Selected nodes can be removed using the delete button on menu pane. -When done, click the save option in the file menu to build the MXM.xml file, then load up with MXM .9m or later. -Myxomatosis has the ability to open previously-generated Myxomatosis XML files. Just choose import from the file menu. Home-made XML files, however, could lead to unpredictable results, potentially crashing the application. -In the unlikely case of an application failure, I have tried my best to capture the error and display to to a message box. Should any of these error boxes pop up, please copy and paste and let me know what it says and what you were doing at the time of failure. I will work hard to solve the problem. The future of Myxomatosis? Depends on popularity. I just threw it together in a couple days after seeing a post on X-S and being inspired by AvaXML (an XML utility for Avalaunch dash). But hey, if features and bug fixes are requested, I will do my best to update. I'd actually like to spend more time on the skin designer. If it's something small though, like adding a few more parameters when a new MXM version comes out, that should be easy. Btw, have you tried Generator Skin 2.0 for MXM? http://www.allxboxskins.com Need MXM Help? Try the MXM forums at http://forums.xbox-scene.com/ |
